BEIRUT SHORE EXCURSION
*This
excursion may not be the actual route that is offered - it
may be replaced
with a different route with no notice.
After disembarkation, drive through the centre of the Old City
of Beirut, which is undergoing extensive restoration.
Drive along the coastal road to the world famous Grotto
of Jeitta. We begin to explore these magnificent caves
with a Cable-Car Ride, and a short walk takes us to the
famous Stalactites and Stalagmites, which have taken
millions of years to develop. A short Train ride inside
the mountain takes us to an underground lake, followed
by a boat trip on the lake.
We
then drive to the beautiful Church of Our Lady of
Harissa, which in fact are two churches next to each
other. The Greek Orthodox Church is presently closed for
restoration. Overlooking the churches is a statue of Our
Lady of Lebanon After visiting the Church of Our Lady of
Harissa. enjoy the magnificent view of the coast from
this vantage point. Continue along the coastal road to
Junieh, the new seaside Resort of Beirut with its
picturesque Port.
Drive
on to Byblos, the beautiful coastal City of Lebanon,
which later developed into a picturesque fishing
village. Wonder through the little narrow streets of
Byblos, down to the Harbor, where you can either take a
short Boat Ride, or visit the many Souvenir Shops in the
area.( Visiting the Castle is not included in the
Excursion )
On
our return journey back to Beirut, ample time will be
given for shopping at a number of Outlets offering
either Special Prices or special reductions to our
Passengers.
**Passengers
with Israeli stamps in their passport will not be
allowed to disembark.
Travel documents for Lebanon & Syria
We
would like to remind you that passengers who have an Israeli
stamp in their passport will NOT be allowed to disembark
in Lebanon and Syria.
Also passengers
who travel to Lebanon and Syria must carry with them a
valid passport and NOT an ID card otherwise they
will not be allowed to embark with the vessel at Limassol port.
