Saint Efrem & Saint Irene Chrysovalantou

Not many people know this but in Attica you can visit the Convent of one of the best & most famous Miracle workers of her time. Saint Irene Chrysovalantou had a convent built in her memory in 1930 and it is a fine and beautiful example  of Byzantine architecture.

To this day Saint Irene’s miracles are celebrated by the Greek Orthodox Church every year on 28th of July.

After sampling the miracles of saint Irene you are then driven down the Dionyos mountain to the coastal resort of Attica. Nea Makri is a renowned beauty spot and also offers you the opportunity to see the Monastery with the Sacred Tree and the Sacred Remains of Saint Ephrem.
