Rhodes
Rhodes, a jewel of an island, has something to offer everyone. According
to Greek Mythology, Rhodes was blessed by the God of Sun “Helios” with 300
days of glorious sunshine each year. The golden sandy beaches the crystal
clear water, the variety of ancient Greek monuments (Acropolis, Temple of
Apollo, Theatre and Stadium) as well as the cosmopolitan town with it’s
Venetian castle and inexpensive bazaars give the visitor the opportunity
to have an exotic adventure.
Rhodes excursion
This excursion is a combination of pilgrimage plus a drive to one of the
loveliest areas of Rhodes and is operated without a professional guide.
After arrival in Rhodes on Saturday afternoon, you board the coaches and
proceed south to the Monastery of the Virgin Mary called “Tsambika” and
who is the patron saint of Rhodes.
Ample time will be given to visit the rich treasures of the monastery and
especially the church, which houses the miraculous icon of the Virgin
Mary. We then proceed to the “Valley of the 7 Springs”, one of the most
beautiful areas of Rhodes. The area is covered with plane trees and the
water flowing out of the 7 springs creates beautiful little streams
running down the valley.
We return to the Old City of Rhodes where time will be given for shopping
before walking back to the ship, which is always docked a short distance
to the Old City.
Passengers wishing to participate in the Rhodes excursion are advised to
make their bookings onboard ship, after embarkation.
Symi
The very first thing about the island of Symi that impresses the visitor
is its architecture. Ghialos is the main port of the island and is one o
the most picturesque, attractive and unforgettable harbours in Greece.
Hundreds of churches are scattered around the island offering visitors the
opportunity to visit them and learn their history.
During the 1900s, Symi was the world’s most renowned sponge diving centre.
The islanders have a reputation for being fearless seamen, expert sponge
divers, and skilful shipbuilders.
Symi excursion
After docking at the picturesque harbour of Symi, passengers will board
one of the large local boats and follow the western coast of the island to
the harbour of Panormitis, where the Monastery of St. Michael Panormitis
is situated.
Visit the church of the Monastery, which houses the miraculous icon of St.
Michael the Archangel, renowned for answering prayers and performing many
miracles. Visit the museum that houses some of the relics of the
Monastery. As this excursion is a pilgrimage there will be no guide
accompanying participants.

(In the event that that number of participants is limited, mini buses will
be used instead.)
Passengers wishing to participate in the Panormitis excursion are advised
to make their bookings onboard ship, after embarkation.
